Quince Cotton & Cashmere Sweaters Review: Are They Worth It?

Last Updated on February 2, 2025 by travelingwithsunscreen

I’ve been a fan of Quince for a while now—their quality, affordability, and classic styles make them a staple in my wardrobe. I love their basics like modal tees and linen pants, but arguably they’re most famous for their sweaters. I ended up testing three of their most popular options. Here’s my review of Quince cashmere sweaters and Quince cotton sweaters.

1. Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater Review

Quince’s Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater has a cult following, and after wearing it, I get why. It’s made from 100% Mongolian cashmere, and it’s lightweight but still incredibly warm. I’m an always-cold person, so I’m constantly on the lookout for sweaters that are actually warm, and this is definitely a winner. Plus, the knit is fine and smooth, and the material is so unbelievably soft.

I was a little worried about caring for cashmere, but it turns out to be easier than I thought. I wash my Quince cashmere sweaters inside-out in a mesh sweater bag on the delicate cycle, no spin, with cold water, then give them a quick squeeze and lay flat to dry. That’s it. (Full disclosure: the actual care instructions for the sweater say “hand wash only,” but I haven’t had any issues with my method, and one of my sweaters is going on a year old and still looking great.) Cashmere only needs to be washed every several wears, which makes maintenance pretty low-effort. There has been a little bit pilling over time, but a quick pass with a cashmere comb keeps this sweater looking as good as new.

The fit is true to size—great for a classic look. I have a couple of these in different colors, and they’re a winter go-to for me. For $50, it’s an amazing deal compared to similar sweaters that cost double or triple elsewhere.

Perfect for Travel

One of the best things about the Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater is how travel-friendly it is. Given how warm it is, you’d think it would take up a lot of space, but it’s actually quite compact. Because cashmere doesn’t need to be washed after every wear, you can easily get away with packing just a couple of these sweaters for a week-long winter trip. Packing light for cold-weather travel used to be a struggle for me, but thanks to these sweaters, it’s no longer an issue!

Such a classic.

2. 100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan Review

I love a good cardigan, and Quince’s Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan has quickly become a favorite. It has a chunky fisherman knit, which gives it a great texture, and the cropped, boxy fit makes it feel modern and versatile. It works perfectly with high-waisted jeans, and it’s great for layering over just about anything. When temperatures drop way down, I’ll even layer it over my cashmere crewneck sweater for ultra-mega-warmth.

Made from 100% organic cotton, this sweater thick and substantial—definitely a cold-weather piece rather than a year-round option. The weight of the knit makes it feel extra cozy, and it provides serious warmth, which has been perfect for winter layering.

I got it in the striped version, but now I have my eye on the ivory or camel color. The quality is fantastic, and I reach for this sweater constantly when the temperatures drop. If you’re looking for something that’s as stylish as it is warm, this one is a great pick.

I love layering this over the Mongolian Cashmere Sweater for extra warmth!

3. Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck Sweater Review

Quince’s Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck Sweater is my idea of the perfect fisherman knit—chunky, soft, warm, and effortlessly stylish. It’s made from the same high-quality Mongolian cashmere as the crewneck but in a thicker, all-over ribbed knit that gives it a bit more structure and weight. I love layering it over a classic white tee.

I sized up because I wanted that relaxed, oversized feel, and it’s truly perfect for curling up in on cold days. The sleeves are nice and long, and it has a great drape. I went with charcoal, but I’m seriously considering getting the oatmeal next since it’s such a classic color.

If you want a more fitted look, go with your normal size, but if you like the slightly slouchy, relaxed style, sizing up is a great option. It’s definitely an investment piece, but considering similar sweaters from other brands go for $200+, this one feels like a steal.

Literally the coziest

Quince’s Hassle-Free Return Policy

One of the best things about shopping with Quince is their amazing return policy. They offer totally free returns for a full 365 days. If you decide a sweater isn’t quite right for you, just pack it up and bring it to the post office—no printing required. You just show a QR code on your phone, and you’re good to go. It’s one of the easiest and most stress-free return processes I’ve encountered, which makes trying out their products risk-free.

Final Thoughts: Which Sweater Should You Get?

If you’re looking for an everyday, go-with-everything sweater, the Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck is the perfect pick. If you love layering and want a cozy yet stylish cardigan that’s ideal for cold weather, the Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan is a fantastic choice. And if you want something a little more substantial but still soft and luxurious, the Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck is well worth it.

I’ve been so impressed with these sweaters that I already have my eye on a few more. Have you tried any Quince sweaters? Let me know which ones are your favorites!
